The mayor appreciates the contribution of companies and individuals to this initiative promoted by Benidorm City Council and which weekly serves nearly 1,000 schoolchildren

Tomorrow, Wednesday, the seventh installment of the municipal program "Menjadors a casa"

19 May 2020
Mañana miércoles, séptima entrega del programa municipal ‘Menjadors a casa’

The free municipal program 'Menjadors a casa' will carry out its seventh installment tomorrow, Wednesday, May 20, with which it will once again reach nearly 1,000 schoolchildren with dining grants excluded from the 'purchase vouchers' plan launched by Regional Goverment from its Education department. The mayor, Toni Pérez, recalled that the purpose of this program promoted by Benidorm City Council is "to serve all the students of the public schools in the city, registered in the town, who have been awarded dining grants of the types of B to F, both inclusive, providing them with a food service similar to that which they would receive during the school year at their respective centers and thus alleviating the situation of many families. ”

For the distribution of these menus, the City Council has set up delivery points attended by volunteers from the Collective Help Network (#RAC) of Benidorm City Council and municipal staff in all the neighborhoods of Benidorm. Depending on the location of the student's school, families must go to both the Casa del Fester and the José Llorca Linares social center, Les Caletes Municipal Children's School and CEIP El Murtal, Ausiàs March and Els Tolls. The distribution is made between 09:00 and 13:30.

As in the previous six installments, each family will receive a weekly batch of balanced menus consisting of first and second courses, fruit, dairy and water. In addition, in this seventh installment the lots will include milk bricks contributed by Real Estate Group TM, developer of the Partial Plan 2/1 and Poniente Action Unit 1. In addition to ‘Menjadors a casa’ program, this donation of more than 5,000 bricks will also contribute to Cáritas helpline.

Mayor Toni Pérez has once again thanked “the donations that companies and individuals are making to contribute to the development of this solidarity initiative, which tries to mitigate the social consequences that stem from the health crisis caused by Covid-19. Without a doubt, this collaboration is an example of solidarity ”.

In addition to schoolchildren not included in the Ministry program, 'Menjadors a casa' also serves minor beneficiaries of Type A dinning grants who have had incidents in receiving the 'purchase vouchers' from the regional administration, and other minors reported by the schools themselves, all of them registered in Benidorm.
