Tennis players from 41 countries compete in the IX Juan Fuster Zaragoza Tournament, included in the European Under-14 Tour

Tennis players from 41 countries from five continents will compete this Friday, August 24, the IX Juan Fuster Zaragoza Tournament, included in the European circuit Sub-14 and in which "the best world-class rackets" will meet, as it was announced by the Councilor for Sports, Arturo Cabrillo, who ensured that this competition is "a unique opportunity to see live the future figures of tennis" at the international level.

Cabrillo has presented today this edition of the tournament with the director of the same, Gonzalo Morell, and with the director of the international school Lope de Vega, Vicente Fuster. A tournament that will last until September 2 and will be held at the facilities of the Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor and the Sports Club Lope de Vega.

According to the data transferred by the tournament director, "it was the best year in terms of registration" with 373 players: 155 in the men's category and 118 in the women's category. Among the players, "the four top seeds" of the tournament are among "the 35 best in the world ranking": the Russian Kira Pavlova -nº16-, the Ukrainian Sabina Zeynalova -nº17-, the Russian Ksenia Zaytseva -nº30- and the Slovak Emma Tothova -nº33-. In the men's category, the three top seeds are among the top 50 in the ranking: the Spanish Pedro Ródenas- nº30-, the German Marc Majdandzic -nº37-, and the Italian Mariano Tammaro -nº46-.

Participating in the tournament are also the national teams of Russia, Spain and Great Britain, to which the Ukrainian team could be added.

Gonzalo Morell underlined "the great importance of the tournament", since "several champions" of past editions "are already among the 80 best players in the absolute world ranking". This is the case of Álex de Miñaur who won "five years ago", which "has been the great surprise of the professional circuit" this year and which occupies the 75th place in the ranking of the ATP; or the Spanish Nicolás Álvarez, winner of three editions, has been "the youngest player in history to get 10 ATP points". Among the winners of previous editions, is Eva Álvarez, who is part of the selection of the Federation Cup of Spain.

In addition to the international nature of the event, the head of the Lope de Vega school stressed that "every year the participants have left very satisfied with the tournament". In this regard, the director of the competition has pointed out that "parents, coaches and national coaches vote us as one of the best tournaments in Europe", because in addition to the facilities and the slopes - which "are the best" - also "They enjoy the city, which attracts a lot."
