The Local Government Board (JGL) has approved in its meeting today the bases of the Home Care Assistance Program (PAAD) of 2022, the objective of which is to grant financial aid for home care expenses for families that need personal, psychosocial, educational or domestic care. Also for people with difficulties in carrying out basic activities of daily life, not recognized as people in a situation of dependency, and for people or families in need of family support.
Social Welfare will allocate 500,000 euros to this program, "guaranteeing the same financial resources that we already made effective last year and with which 243 people were attended," said the Councilor for Social Welfare, Angela Llorca. Of these, 136 received both personal and domestic help; 85 people only personal help; and the remaining 22, domestic.

A year earlier, in 2019, 271 users benefited from this program, of which 118 were women and 83 men.

Llorca has indicated that this aid program is aimed at “paying for the assistance expenses that dependent people or people with special needs have at home, so that they can remain in their usual environment and have greater autonomy, as well as improve their quality. of life, since they receive personal help or domestic help ”.
To be a beneficiary of these grants "it is essential to reside in Benidorm, be registered for at least one year and have a favorable opinion from the Assessment Commission of the Department of Social Welfare." This commission will be the one that sets, case by case, the number of subsidized hours of the program, the tasks that are included, the intensity and duration of the home care and the total amount of the aid.
The beneficiary must present an “evident and verifiable” need for support at home in order to exercise their autonomy that allows them to continue in their usual environment. The amount to be subsidized, has indicated the mayor, "will be a maximum of 14 euros per hour for personal, psychosocial and educational care and a maximum of 9 euros per hour in the case of domestic care"
In any case, she added, "the contribution will be fixed in relation to the cost of the service and the monthly income per capita, taking into account all the income of the coexistence unit.
Applications may be submitted in the year 2022 and, exceptionally, until November 26, 2022 for beneficiaries who have received the aid in 2021.
The bases that govern these grants will be published in the National Subsidies Data Bank (BDNS) and in the municipal website: https://sede.benidorm.org
