The seventh edition of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival has closed with the delivery of prizes and recognitions in an act that has been held in the Assembly Hall of the Town Hall. The short film by Iván Morales, 'Sushi' has been the great winner by winning the prizes for Best Director, Best Performance (Xavi Sáez), and Best Fiction Short Film.

Another of the winners was the film by Eulalia Ramón, 'Cuentas divinas', which won the Award for Best Audience Short Film and a special mention in the New Directors Platform (PNR) award.

The closing of the film contest was attended by the mayor Toni Pérez, as well as the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and several members of the municipal corporation. The mayor of Culture highlighted at the end of the gala that "the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival shows that it continues to grow with each passing year, as shown by the fact that more than 700 short films, 300 scripts, and 30 short pitches were received."

Jaime Jesús Pérez also pointed out that "this festival week is another example of the great cultural offer of the city, an appointment that in itself attracts many film-loving visitors who find in Benidorm a magnificent opportunity to see high-quality short films ”.

The contest has become more and more consolidated over time to the point that its director, Beatriz Hernández, has suggested the idea of expanding the festival to more venues in a gala that has been hosted by the scriptwriter and humorist Paula Púa.

Hernández herself highlighted that this year "the attendance has been incredible and that is the best proof that the short film sector is highly sought after as a leisure offer." It ended with the phrase "the short is also cinema" which has become the main motto of the contest.

This closing gala also served to reward actress María Esteve's career and contribution to the short film sector with the 'Skyliner' Award. The protagonist dedicated the recognition to the director Álvaro Fernández Armero. “Never give up. The shorts are cinema ”she told those present.
