The City Council creates the figure of 'Resident B' for companies with the IVTM and fiscal domicile in the city

The 'Residents' Zone' adds, from May 6, about a hundred new places in the downtown area

17 April 2019
La ‘Zona de Residentes’ suma a partir del 6 de mayo cerca un centenar de nuevas plazas en la zona Centro

The parking area exclusively for residents adds from May 6 "about a hundred new places in the city center", as reported today by the councilor of Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate. Specifically, the streets will be converted into 'Residents' Zone': Sant Andreu, Los Tulipanes, L'Almadrava, Del Vent, Dels Pescadors, and Puig Campana stretch between Maravall and Rosal.

De Zárate recalled that these parking spaces for residents are added to those already operational in the Center in the area between Limones street and El Cruce, thus reaching about 300 seats of this type in the central almond of Benidorm. A central almond, has indicated, in which there are squares for residents, free places, blue zone, three public car parks (Tomás Ortuño, Mercado and Aigüera) and several private ones, thus offering parking possibilities for neighbors, tourists and people registered in other locations.

With the creation of these new places for residents announced today there are already around 2,300 that work in the Center, Colonia Madrid-Foietes and Rincón de Loix. De Zárate recalled that when implementing new streets of 'Resident Zone' "we are attending the criterion of municipal technicians and taking into account the demand for citizenship and data on housing and mobility of each neighborhood." The forecast, he pointed out, is "little by little to incorporate new 'Resident Zones' throughout the city, according to the technical criteria."

De Zárate recalled that in order to park in the 'Resident Zone' it is necessary to obtain the specific adhesive card, which must be placed on the windshield. To access this card you only have to be registered in Benidorm, be the owner of a small van or/and pay the vehicle tax in the city.

The cards will continue to be processed and delivered to the administrative extension of Colonia Madrid, located on Avenida de Beniardá 17. Until the 30th this extension will also open in the afternoons from 5pm to 8pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm. In addition, from May 2, the delivery of cards will also be done in the morning on the fourth floor of City Hall, in the Urban Scene department. In addition, any questions or queries can be transferred to the e-mail address cartaresidente@benidorm.org.

The councilman has moved that the City Council has already articulated the figure of 'Resident B', which includes companies with tax domicile in Benidorm. In this regard, has advanced that from May 2 will begin to process the cards so that these company vehicles can park in 'Resident Zone' in the same conditions. In order to obtain this card, companies must pay in the city the circulation tax (IVTM) of those vehicles and prove to have their fiscal domicile in Benidorm.

On the other hand, De Zárate has reported that the Local Police is controlling the proper use and operation of the 'Resident Zone'. Thus, "they have already put more than 300 complaints to vehicles parked in 'Resident Zone' without being authorized."
