The mayor, Toni Pérez, has shown all his support for a reference institution in care for people with functional diversity throughout the Valencian Community
The rain cannot stop with the Doble Amor celebration in its traditional Day of Coexistence
Despite the intermittent rain that made it necessary to seek shelter at certain times of the day, Doble Amor celebrated its party that, like every year, a monument made by users and monitors from the center is exhibited.
The mayor Toni Pérez, the councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca, other members of the municipal Corporation, and the provincial deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate, participated in the event together with the president of Doble Amor, Casimirlo Vila; the director, Luis Alfonso Muñoz; monitors, technicians, and users of what is a reference center in the province and the entire Valencian Community in attention to people with functional diversity.
Shortly before noon, the monument was presented, and the 'xirimita' and the 'tabalet' announced the party together with the older fallera and fallero who paraded to the applause of the attendees. Then came the time for the 'picaeta' before the giant paella that fed the bodies for the end of the party afterward.
The Doble Amor Association attends in its Occupational Center around 60 people with intellectual disabilities from Benidorm and its region. A dozen direct care and service technicians work there. El Doble Amor also has an industrial laundry that employs another 60 who, every day, are capable of washing eight tons of clothes, most of them in hotels and tourist accommodations in the city.
