The plenary of the corporation has approved Monday by a majority that the new semi -atrical section of Tomás Ortuño Street, between the streets Mercado and La Garita, is "free of occupation of furniture for catering, hospitality and others." The proposal of the Councilor of Commerce, Ana Pellicer, says that it is "optimum" that in this section "prevail the concept of open street, free of tables and chairs or other elements that do not benefit the pedestrian traffic," the pedestrian is " the protagonist ", and where the conventional trade" has its space ".
Pellicer explained that the model that already operates on Paseo de la Carretera is intended to be extended to this section, and this decision has been "a measure of protection and enhancement of traditional commerce", and added that the reports of the areas of Commerce and Engineering support this proposal, as well as the Independent Association of Merchants of Benidorm (AICO).

It was also approved unanimously and at the behest of Compromís-Los Verdes, a motion to offer free information and legal and economic advice to the people affected by the land clauses and by the expenses of setting up the mortgage, and to collaborate with the Conselleria of Justice and the Bar Association of Alicante so that these citizens can recover the expenses paid by these clauses.
