This expansion communicated by SUMA to the City Council will be effective as soon as they are collected, now paralyzed by the state of alarm

The payment period for the circulation tax and the garbage rate will be extended to June 15 when the receipts are issued.

16 April 2020
El periodo de pago del impuesto de circulación y de la tasa de basura se ampliará al 15 de junio cuando se giren los recibos

The first period of voluntary payment of the Tax on Mechanical Traction Vehicles (ITVM) and the municipal rate of garbage has been extended until June 15, as reported today by SUMA, the body that has delegated the collection of municipal taxes and fees , to Benidorm City Council. The mayor, Toni Pérez, recalled that "these receipts have not yet been collected, since their issue was paralyzed until the alarm state was lifted."

However, once the Government of Spain withdraws the state of alarm, SUMA will send these receipts, which can usually be paid in a voluntary period until May 8.

The mayor has clarified that "although these receipts are withheld, they were already printed when the state of alarm was decreed and hence the payment deadline that will appear in the document is May 8, although they may be paid until 15 of June".

Likewise, Toni Pérez has reported that "direct debits will be charged to the account on June 10."

In addition to withholding the payment of the IVTM receipt and the garbage fee until the alarm state is finished to alleviate the tax burden on families during the health crisis, the City Council also decided to suspend the collection of direct debits from municipal educational services and sports until the resumption of the same, compensating users who had previously paid for it.
