Nearly 3,000 club members celebrate 'La Mona'

After two years of 'break' forced by the pandemic, nearly 3,000 supporters' club members today participate in the traditional 'La Mona' event, organized by the Associació de Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge' and which has opened its new location in Parque de la Séquia Mare. The mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; members of the Municipal Corporation; The Queen of the Festes Majors Patronals, Aila Merenciano, together with her Ladies of Honor and the president of the Comissió, José Vicente Fuster, have accompanied the Associació de Penyes and peñistas on this festive day.

After noon, the Associació de Penyes, chaired by Adrián Romero, offered the authorities and supporters an aperitif. In the afternoon, the entity has distributed 2,100 'monas', (traditional buns that are eaten during Holy Week), among the attendees.

After 'La Mona' event, l'Associació is now preparing for the next big event on the festive calendar: the Acampada de Penyes, which will take place the weekend of April 29 to May 1.
