The Sociocultural Association of the Local Police awarded with 'Alejandro Morcuende' award
The most supportive Benidorm runs 'On the front line' to benefit Aspanion
Plaza de SS MM los Reyes de España has hosted since 9:00 a.m. this Sunday the solidarity race 'On the Front Line' organized by the Cultural Association of the Local Police and with the support of the Department of Sports.
More than 1,250 athletes have registered to participate in the different tests in the morning, the first, the 5K and the 10K. Two parallel itineraries to the beaches of Levante and Poniente. Next, the non-competitive walking march began, and finally, in the early afternoon, the children's races that took place.
The Sports Councilor, Javier Jordá, along with numerous colleagues from the corporation, competed and also accompanied the participants from the beginning of the day.
After the five and ten-kilometer races, the vice president of Aspanion Comunidad Valenciana, Alejandro López, greeted the athletes and thanked his organization for their social and economic support. After his words, a manifesto was read on the occasion of the childhood cancer awareness month that is now being celebrated.
Next, the president of Aspanion Benidorm, Fran Morcuende, presented the president of the Sociocultural Association of the Benidorm Local Police, Rafael Urbano, and the member of its board, Manuel Villalón, with the 'Alejandro Morcuende' trophy with which the group recognizes each year the commitment of society to the cause. It so happens that today, precisely, little Alejandro would turn 17 years old.
Once the children's sports events and the awards ceremony have finished, the organization has confirmed that the profits obtained this morning have been 22,000 euros, they will be given entirely to Aspanion, an entity that, since its foundation in 1985, has worked to guarantee the better quality of life for children and adolescents who suffer from the disease and their families.
