Más de 600 piezas conforman el Belén de ‘La Barqueta’ que se puede visitar desde hoy

The Infant Queen of the Festes Majors Patronals 2018 in Benidorm, Anna Calbo, has been in charge of illuminating the Bethlehem of the Recreational Cultural Association 'La Barqueta' that has been inaugurated, as it is traditional, today, December 8, festivity of Inmaculada Concepción.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, was accompanied by the Infant Queen; the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles and representatives of the different municipal groups; the Queen, Fátima Carrobles and the recently appointed presidents of the Comissió and of the Association of Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge', Roberto Carretero and Coly Pérez. The president in perpetuity of the Comissió and of 'La Barqueta', Paco Rosera, has not missed the event either.

The Bethlehem of 'La Barqueta' was set up for the first time in 1980. The first years in the Church of Sant Jaume and Santa Anna, later in the municipal market and since 2009, in the headquarters of Tomás Ortuño street entity. More than 600 pieces make up a unique composition, some of them, as Paco Rosera says, "have half a century of life".

The Bethlehem is formed by more than 20 scenes where you can contemplate the work inspired by the Christmas tradition. In the center, the manger and flying over everything, an animated angel. The birth of 'La Barqueta', which on this first day has seen how its premises have been small before the large influx of public, will remain open until January 5, from 10.00 to 13.00 in the morning and 17.00 at 9.00 pm in the afternoon
