Mobility extends the #BenidormMasCerca campaign until the end of the year to promote sales in the center and the old town

Benidorm City Council has decided to extend the #BenidormMasCerca campaign until December 31 due to its good functioning, as reported by the Councilor for Mobility, Francis Muñoz. This campaign began last year and was scheduled to end in December 2023, although it was extended until May 31 of this year. The City Council has announced now that the campaign will be extended until the end of the year.

The #BenidormMoreCerca campaign is the result of an agreement between the Department of Mobility, the concessionaire company of l'Aigüera parking lot EYSA, and the associations Abreca and AICO to launch this initiative aimed at encouraging purchases, services and drinks that take place in Benidorm.

The campaign allows consumers to obtain one hour of free parking in l'Aigüera car park when purchasing at one of the establishments participating in the campaign. These vouchers are effective only in the aforementioned parking lot, although the Department intends to "study the possibility of expanding it to more public and private parking lots in Benidorm," said the Mobility Councilor.

The campaign objective was to encourage shopping, services and consumption in the centre and old town of the city. To do this, participating establishments give away a free hour for a ticket whose minimum amount is 20 euros. The tickets, however, are not cumulative, so only one hour per day per vehicle is credited.

Precisely the good results of the campaign have supported its continuity until the end of this year. Thus, from February 2, 2023, to December 31 of last year, a total of 1,884 one-hour free parking vouchers were used. This year, from January 1 to April 30, the number of vouchers amounted to 684.

Francis Muñoz also recalled that “the businesses that participate in the campaign do not have to pay any amount to participate in it.” The mayor stressed regarding the campaign that "it is an interesting initiative that benefits neighbours and visitors and local businesses as it is a powerful incentive to make purchases in the city."
