The Mayor Toni Pérez receives the runners-up of the IX Coupe des Champions de Pilota

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has received this noon in his office along with the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, the team of Benidorm Pilota Club, formed by Vicente Ivorra, José Luis Calvo, Luis Navarro, Rafa Ferrer, Toni Calvo and Paco Juan, recently proclaimed as runner-up of the IX Coupe des Champions, played in the Italian region of Siena - Tuscany, in an event that has brought together the world elite of the pilota in the modality of Llargues, and organized by the International Confederation of Ball by Hand (CIJB).

In this tournament, played this past weekend in the municipalities of Torniella, Ciciano and Monteciano, the champion teams from the European regions that practice the game mode to Llargues have participated. The participating teams have been Thielain and Kerksken (Belgium), Scalvia and Torniella (Italy), Mabeuge (France), a selection of Euskadi, and Parcent and Relleu as Valencian representatives, in addition to Benidorm that participated as champion of the last edition.

The Benidorm team passed the first phase, in which they faced the teams of Euskadi and Kerksken, to play the semifinal again against the Belgian team of Kerksken, reaching the grand final that was played last Sunday in the municipality of Monteciano . In this final, played against the formation of Parcent, Benidorm fell for the final result of 6-3.

This victory concludes a great season in which the great promotional work that is carried out with the quarry of the Club is revealed, and that now bears fruit, with a Municipal Pilota School that has conquered several provincial and regional titles in various categories in recent years.
