Due to the ongoing renovation of the water infrastructure on Montecarlo Avenue, the section of Londres Street between Estocolmo and Montecarlo will be closed to traffic for approximately two months, starting tomorrow, Wednesday, April 29.

The work on Londres Street will begin tomorrow and is part of the ongoing renovation of the drinking water and sanitation infrastructure on Montecarlo Avenue, which has been underway for several months. Despite the closure, access to parking areas and driveways will be maintained. According to the Councillor for the Water Cycle, José Ramón González de Zárate, the work on this street involves the installation of a section of stormwater collector with the corresponding inlets. The aim is to "reduce the timeframe as much as possible to minimise disruption to residents."

Meanwhile, Montecarlo Avenue will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, “and it is no longer planned to close it to traffic,” although it will affect the on-street parking lanes and sidewalks, “always respecting one side as a pedestrian walkway.”

Similarly, regarding Stockholm Street, in this case, only the connection of the stormwater drainage network needs to be completed, “which we will try to do without having to close the road to vehicles,” the councillor reported.

The project to renovate the drinking water and sanitation infrastructure on Montecarlo Avenue was awarded for €1,355,814.06 and is financed entirely by the Municipal Water Service Renewal Fund. In addition to the drinking water and sanitation pipes, the rainwater drainage system, lighting, paving, vertical and horizontal signage, landscaping and trees will also be renewed, and the reclaimed water network will be incorporated.
