Local Police of Benidorm tests Ícaro, a crisis simulation software in virtual environments

La Policía Local de Benidorm testa Ícaro, un software de simulación de crisis en entornos virtuales

On the occasion of the celebration of the 176th anniversary of the constitution of the Local Police of Benidorm, the Professional Union of Police and Firefighters (SPPLB), and the Socio-Cultural Association of the Local Police of Benidorm (ASC-PLBND), with the collaboration of the Department of Public Security have organized a training day to test the new program of virtual generation Icarus that, through video scenarios, serves as training and prevention in the event of crisis situations.

The Councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez, was in charge of opening the day to which around eighty local police and members of the State Security Forces and Corps have registered. Martínez thanked "the commitment" in defending the rights of the citizens of the agents and "their constant work to be formed to better protect the society they serve," as demonstrated by the organization of this day.

Together with Martínez, Luis Martín Arévalo, Deputy Local Police Assistant of Benidorm, shared the stage; Francisco Ángel González, local secretary of the SPPLB; Francisco Albero, secretary of the ASC-PLBND; and the director of the day, Pedro Gil, officer of the Local Police of Valencia and responsible for training the union.

Icaro allows police officers to act in simulated situations. In the practical workshop that followed the theoretical training, real images of Benidorm were used. Thanks to the software, the police performed in a virtual way and have been able to easily plan the resolution of conflicts, which allows them to face real situations with greater guarantees of success in the performance of their work.
