L’Horta de Benidorm celebra sus fiestas en honor a la Mare de Déu del Roser

Neighbors of l'Horta of Benidorm have celebrated this afternoon the traditional pilgrimage and offering to the Virgin of the Rosary in the Hermitage of Sanz, an act that every year organizes the Comissió de Festes del Roser, and that counts with the collaboration of the Department of Festivities . At 5.30 pm, about 300 people have gathered in the Trinquet to march on foot to the Hermitage.

Among the attendees, the mayor of Benidorm Toni Pérez; and the Councilor for Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, along with a large representation of the municipal corporation; the queens Marina Carrillo and Paula Mayor; the presidents of the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals 2019 and the Association of clubs ‘Verge del Sofratge’, Roberto Carretero and Coly Pérez. All of them, with their presence, have shown their support for Roser and its president, Emilio Martínez Seguí. They have also travelled the itinerary to the hermitage of the Three Wise Men parade to the Hermitage, and the commissions of Sant Isidre and Sant Antoni.

Once in the Hermitage of Sanz, the floral offering in the image of the Virgin has taken place. Behind her, José Vicente Botella Fuster, ‘El Mono’ has intervened as a preacher, recalling anecdotes from the past, “stories from the Garden,” where “memories of our origins are found,” he said. Then, the president of Roser, has taken the floor and, excited, thanked the support received by neighbors and businesses without which "this festivity would not exist." He has also had some words of remembrance in memory of José Miguel López Martínez, a member that is no longer among us.

After the imposition of bow ties and banners to the festive entities, Toni Pérez has addressed the attendees remembering the figure of López Martínez and all that he “and many others who are no longer with us” have done “so that Benidorm celebrate the festival of the Roser, for the singles ”and for“ keeping alive the memory of an entire town ”through its popular festivities.

After the words of the mayor, the hymns of Benidorm and the Valencian Community have been interpreted, the queens and ladies have danced the ‘Peuet’ and the act has ended with the shot of a ‘Estampeta’. Already at night, in the Hermitage, the party continues with music and dance until dawn.
