The Town Hall's Assembly Hall was packed for a concert featuring an original and unusual repertoire for trombone, trumpet, and piano
Kaleidos Trio captivates Benidorm audience in of Great Recitals series
Around 200 people enjoyed the recital in a nearly full municipal auditorium, including the Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and other members of the city council.
The concert began at 8:00 p.m. and confirmed the interest generated by the regular musical program of the Grandes Recitales series, which focuses on chamber ensembles and unique repertoires within the city's cultural offerings.
The Kaleidos Trio, comprised of Vicente Cascales Mogica (trombone), Alfonso Ramón Cantó (trumpet), and Ángel López Martínez (piano), presented the program ‘Kaleidos Origins,’ a proposal conceived from the search for a less common chamber music repertoire, but one of great sonic richness for these three instruments.
The evening began with Leonard Bernstein's ‘On the Waterfront Overture,’ followed by Jacques Castéréde's ‘Concertino’ and the overture to Giuseppe Verdi's ‘Nabucco.’ After a brief pause, the concert continued with Folke Rabe's "Tintomara," a piece performed exclusively for trumpet and trombone.
Following this, pianist Ángel López Martínez performed Sergei Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet" before the recital concluded with Salvador Brotons' "Double Brass Concerto," a work that brought a highly applauded performance to a close.
With this concert, the Grandes Recitales series continues to solidify its position as a leading cultural offering within Benidorm's musical program, bringing high-quality ensembles and repertoires to the public.
