Ana Doménech has been recognized as the best artist under 18 years of age

José Antonio Fernández Scala and Albert Giménez Torrent, winners of the 34th Young Creators contest

03 March 2023
Concurso Nuevos Creadores

José Antonio Fernández Scala, in the painting mode with 'La piel del agua', and Albert Giménez Torrent, in sculpture with 'Aromas de sal', have been the winners of the 34th Young Creators Contest, organized by the Department of Youth directed by Jaime Jesus Perez. After noon, the jury's decision was announced in the same Espai d'Art of the City Council in which the participating works have been exhibited for three weeks.

Both winners have received a prize of 1,000 euros; while the work 'Splashes' by Ana Domenech Ródenas has been recognized as the best work created by an author under 18 years of age and rewarded with 100 euros.

The Councilor for Youth has highlighted the reception of this 34th edition of the contest, which has reached "participation levels before the pandemic" with a total of 26 artists, 20 women and six men, who have signed 36 works: 32 paintings and four sculptures. Although works from different parts of Spain have been received, the proposals made by young creators from the province of Alicante and the Valencian Community, and even from Benidorm, have predominated.

Pérez recalled that the purpose of this contest is to "promote the art and talent of budding artists or those who have already begun to take their first steps", encourage them "to publicize their work" and make it easier for the public to "interact with novel proposals made by the authors of the present and, above all, of the future”.
