Dogs, cats and ferrets can be vaccinated from 1 to 15 June for 19 euros at any veterinary clinic in Benidorm

Health department launches 'Anti-Rabies Vaccination Campaign 2019'

21 May 2019
Sanidad pone en marcha la ‘Campaña de Vacinación Antirrábica 2019’

The Department of Health of Benidorm City Council launches, from 1 to 15 June, 'Anti-Rabies Vaccination Campaign 2019' in collaboration with the seven existing veterinary clinics in the municipality. This campaign is developed in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment, Climate Change and Rural Development, which establishes the obligation to administer the anti-rabies vaccine to dogs, cats and ferrets.

The Councilor for Health, Ana Pellicer, explained that the animals participating in the campaign "in addition to the vaccine will be recognized and will be applied a preventive treatment antiparasitic". The rabies vaccine can be administered to these animals throughout the year but those who participate in this official campaign will benefit from a significant discount and only have to pay 19 euros.

According to Pellicer "the goal is to get vaccinated s all dogs, cats and ferrets in our municipality as a fundamental measure to continue to maintain effective control and prevention of rabies." Can benefit from this municipal campaign all dogs that have implanted the compulsory identification chip, legally recognized, and the mandatory veterinary passport. Remember that the microchip is optional in the case of cats and ferrets.

The sanitary recommendation is that the anti-rabies vaccine be applied annually, although the obligation depends on the type of product supplied. Rabies vaccination is carried out on animals from the third or fourth month of life.

Ana Pellicer has shown her gratitude to all the veterinary clinics of Benidorm since "all the clinics of the city have added another year to this campaign, collaborating decisively in the health care of our pets", even renouncing your usual minutes, since there is no type of public subsidy.
