Van Duá Duo will perform the first concert on Friday with works by great Spanish composers

The Great Recitals return to their appointment with Benidorm one more year

19 January 2022
Los Grandes Recitales vuelven a su cita con Benidorm un año más

Classical music will once again star in the Cycle of Great Recitals that this year reaches its seventh edition in Benidorm, organized by the Department of Culture directed by Jaime Jesús Pérez. The first concert will take place this Friday, January 21, by the Van Duá Duo, in the Assembly Hall of the Benidorm City Hall at 8:00 p.m.

Van Duá Duo, founded in 2008, is made up of the pianists Pamela Pérez, repertorist of instruments at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Alicante and Pedro Mercado, piano teacher at 'José Pérez Barceló de Benidorm' Municipal Conservatory. With extensive experience and an extensive repertoire, the duo deals with original works for piano four hands and transcriptions of compositions from different periods and styles.

The program of the first great recital will be made up of 'Pavana Capricho Op 12' and 'Suite Española Nº 1, Op 47', both by Isaac Albéniz; 'La Procesión del Rocío', by Joaquín Turina; 'Dos danzas de la vida breve', by Manuel de Falla; 'Triana' by Enrique Granados; and 'Danzas Andalizas', by Manuel Infante. Albéniz, Turina, Falla, Granados and Infante are significant authors of Spanish music of the 20th century.

The second concert of the Great Recitals of 2022 will take place on February 18, also in the Assembly Hall of the City Council and at the same time, with a tribute concert to Pedro Iturralde by the also pianist, Jesús Gómez.
