The Comissió de Festes de Sant Antoni has celebrated today in the Hermitage of Sanz the 'Cagà de la burra', a traditional event to raise funds for the upcoming January festivities, which has been recovered six years later. In addition to the mayor Toni Pérez and the Councilor for Festivities, Jesús Carrobles, members of the corporation, the queens and ladies of the Festes Majors Patronals, Chloe D'Hebboudt and Aila Merenciano, the president of the Comissió, José Vicente Fuster, the president of the Penyes Association, Adrián Romero, and numerous neighbours who have wanted to participate in the day and in a peculiar and funny day.
A fenced space with 500 painted plots inside has been set up for this activity. Each plot could be purchased at the price of 10 euros, although tickets had been sold out for several days. Subsequently, the older queens and the president of the Commission have left the donkey inside this enclosure and have waited for the animal to relieve itself. The person who owns the 'lucky' plot would receive a prize of 1,000 euros. Meanwhile, the Comissió has set up a bar with food and drinks at popular prices with background music to liven up the day.
