Benidorm City Council has extended until September 16 the deadline to request new aid of up to 1,000 euros aimed at the freelancers and passenger transport companies, the taxi sector and driving schools. This has been approved today by the Local Government Board (JGL) to "encourage the maximum number of self-employed workers and companies to benefit from this line of aid aimed at minimizing the effects of the economic crisis derived from the pandemic", he explained with the Councilor for Local Development, Mónica Gómez. The councillor has recalled that this call is financed entirely through a grant of 292,491 euros that Benidorm City Council has obtained from the Provincial Council of Alicante.

Gómez recalled that "with this aid, we try to alleviate the situation that these sectors have had to go through during the pandemic, to which they have been very sensitive and from which they are still trying to overcome".

As in other grants with similar characteristics, applications must be submitted on the website of the City Council, through the link https://sede.benidorm.org/catalogo-de-servicios/DIPCOV/.

As established in the bases, SMEs, micro-SMEs or self-employed entrepreneurs with fiscal domicile in Benidorm who carry out their activity in the CNAEs 4931 Urban and suburban passenger transport, 4932 Taxi transport, 4939 Types of land passenger transport, 5010 Maritime passenger transport and 8553 Driving and piloting school activities.

Among the requirements is that the average monthly billing of the months for which the aid is to be requested -which must be between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2022- has been equal to or less than the billed average in the same months of 2019.

Gómez has encouraged companies and freelancers in these sectors to "take advantage of this extension of the term and take advantage of this extraordinary aid that is added to the numerous lines and calls promoted by Benidorm City Council to help the local productive fabric".
