Events department and Ociobal bring the Night of San Juan to Levante beach
The Department of Major Events with Ociobal, the association of pubs and clubs of Benidorm, will organize for the third consecutive year the celebration of the Night of San Juan, on 23, on Levante beach, at the confluence of Bilbao Street with the sea front promenade. This has been announced this morning at a press conference by the councilor responsible for the area, José Ramón González de Zárate, in the company of the representative of leisure entrepreneurs, Richard Romero.
This new proposal is part of the collaboration agreement signed by the City Council with Ociobal that aims to "organize important events in the city and especially on the beach, such as the Night of San Juan," said the councillor, who has also made emphasis on "the leap in quality over previous years" of this edition that expects to gather "more than 5,000 people" around Bilbao Street and Paseo de Levante, and overcome, in this way, the assistance of previous years.
De Zárate recalled that the City Council, through the Department of Public Security that coordinates Lorenzo Martínez, will allocate 32 local police officers; three ambulances, one of them precisely on Avenida de Bilbao; and an extraordinary lifeguard service on the beach; besides having the collaboration of the Red Cross and Civil Protection. All this so that "our young people, neighbors and tourists who visit us, enjoy a night, that next to New Year's Eve, more affluence of public congregates in the city".
Start of the summer season
For his part, Richard Romero said that the event will be free. It will start at 8:00 p.m. and end at 1:00 p.m. on the 24th, "although it will continue in the entertainment venues" until its closure. The highlight of the night will be the SuperMartxé performance, which will be accompanied by dj's Darío Núñez, Julián The Ángel and Misael Deejay.
With the celebration of the Night of San Juan, "Benidorm will kick off the summer season." An evening in which giant video screens will be installed on Bilbao Street that will "project promotional images of the city and its main entertainment venues". Romero, finally, clarified that the acoustic screens "will be oriented towards the beach" so that the music does not disturb the people who rest "but it can be heard from the shore" while the participants in the most magical night of the year " they wet their feet, as tradition dictates.
