The practical training of the course, valid throughout Europe, is being carried out these days at the TAO Bike center, accredited and approved by BEA and 'City&Guilds'

European students complete their training in bicycle mechanics in Benidorm

Estudiantes europeos completan en Benidorm su formación en mecánica de bicicletas

European students of different nationalities are completing their training in bicycle mechanics these days in Benidorm. For one week, these students from Ireland, the Netherlands, Hungary and Romania will receive practical training in the city from the training course promoted by Bicycle Engineering Academy (BEA) and taught at the TAO Bike Centre, accredited and approved by 'City&Guilds'.

The mayor, Toni Pérez, and the Councilor for Mobility, Francis Muñoz, visited the centre this morning to learn first-hand about this training project, co-financed by the Government of Ireland and the European Union. They shared a brief meeting with this first group of students from 'stage 1' of bicycle mechanics technician.

The head of TAO Bikes, Sergio Ruiz, explained that once they complete this course, students can take the intermediate and advanced levels, receiving the 'City&Guilds' professional certificate valid throughout Europe for this training. Each of the courses is blended in nature. In the first three weeks, participants receive theoretical training online, with the last week dedicated to practical training that can be carried out in various centres in Ireland or the one in Benidorm.

The mayor highlighted that “having an approved centre immersed in European training projects will mean that students of different nationalities will stay in our city regularly, while contributing to reinforcing 'Benidorm-sustainability', in this case again through mobility and soft modes of transport."
