Equality department accompanies the students of IES Pere Mª Orts i Bosch in their solidarity for 8-M

The students of IES Pere Mª Orts i Bosch today commemorated International Women's Day, which is celebrated tomorrow, March 8, with a Solidarity Course. Activity in which they have the collaboration of the Department of Equality, directed by Ángela Zaragozí, who has provided a gift for the participating students. Zaragozí has precisely been in charge of cutting the ribbon to start the race, together with the Councilor for Finance and Innovation, Aida García Mayor, and the director of the center, Ignacio Gascón.

The race, in which several hundred students have participated, has started from the school itself and has run through the field area located next to the Salt de l'Aigua educational complex.

After this activity, the programming promoted by the Department of Equality on the occasion of 8-M continues this afternoon with the concert 'Mujeres composoras' by the students of the Municipal Professional Conservatory of Music 'José Pérez Barceló', which will take place in the auditorium of the Cultural Center.

Tomorrow, International Women's Day, the activity will begin at 10:00 am with the placement of the commemorative banner on the balcony of the Town Hall. At noon the exhibition 'Myself' by the illustrator Sandra Prim will open, which will be in the Espai d'Art of the City Council until March 17. The Anémona association has organized a community lunch at the Yacht Club and registration can be done at the association's headquarters. At 5:00 p.m. Mujeres 2000 programmed the play 'Laughter is the best medicine' at the La Torreta social center and 6:30 p.m. the Association of Housewives prepared the 'Tribute to Women of Benidorm' at the Casa del Fester of poetry and song.

The following day there will be a conference entitled 'Mujer, trabajo y salud' by Dr. Eva Ibeas at Casa del Fester at 7:00 p.m. On March 10 at 8:00 p.m., 'Música en femenino' concert will take place in the City Hall Assembly Hall, and on Saturday 11 a self-defense workshop has been organized at Palau d'Esports l'Illa from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The events will conclude on March 20 with the Red Cross exhibition 'Mujeres del mundo', in which the Department of Equality collaborates. It will be in Espai d'Art of the Town Hall and can be visited until March 31.

In addition, the Equality department collaborates, outside of the programming, with the IES Pere María Orts in the Solidarity Course that is held this Tuesday at noon.
