The officer applied the first-aid technique to extract a candy from the throat of the minor, about 2 years old

An off-duty local police officer saves a choking child during the Three Kings Parade

An off-duty Benidorm Local Police officer yesterday saved a minor who was choking during the celebration of the Three Kings Parade. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Ruzafa Street, near Rioja Passage, when the minor, about 2 years old, choked on a piece of candy.

As explained by the Local Police, after detecting a crowd of people, the officer approached the area and noticed the presence of a minor "in a cyanotic state" from whom one of his parents was unsuccessfully trying to extract an object from his throat.

Given the situation, the agent took the minor and applied the corresponding first-aid technique, allowing the child to expel the object, a candy.
After the action of the Local Police officer, and with the minor now out of danger, the parents took the child to a health centre. Police sources have indicated that it is a family that was spending their Christmas holidays in the city.
