The City Council increases parking spaces at Sant Jaume Cemetery for All Saints' Day

Benidorm City Council's Department of Cemeteries has opened a plot of land in the expansion area of Sant Jaume Cemetery as a temporary parking lot to increase parking spaces at the cemetery for All Saints' Day, which is celebrated tomorrow, November 1st.
The councillor for the department, Jaime Jesús Pérez, explained that this work was carried out in collaboration with the Departments of Parks and Gardens and Mobility, and aims to "provide convenience to citizens who will be traveling to Sant Jaume Cemetery to visit their deceased loved ones in private vehicles, making it easier for them to park," especially during peak visiting hours.
The councillor explained that, among the work carried out, "the entire area has been cleaned and cleared, and the entrance and exit routes have been marked to ensure the smoothest possible traffic flow."
Jaime Jesús Pérez also highlighted that, “we are currently in a period of very high visitor numbers at both cemeteries, and although the City Council is operating a special bus service to Sant Jaume Cemetery during this time, we know that many residents come by car to bring flowers and visit their loved ones,” which causes parking demand to skyrocket at certain times.
Finally, the Councillor for Cemeteries reminded everyone that the City Council recently reopened access to Sant Jaume Cemetery from l’Assagador de Ricardo, which was temporarily closed due to the construction work on the Vial Discotecas. Therefore, residents travelling to this cemetery by car can do so either via this road or from the access road from the industrial park, which also remains open.
