Benidorm City Council has enabled four points for the collection of first aid medical material for Ukraine from today until Friday. The mayor, Toni Pérez, explained that "from the Ukrainian Consulate in Valencia this morning they have told us that at the moment they need medical material and that is why people or groups in Benidorm who want to collaborate are asked to focus on this type of product so that their charitable contribution may be as effective as possible”.

Among the first aid medical material requested by the Consulate that the population can provide: dressings, band-aids, bandages and bandages of different types and sizes, ointments for burns, thermal blankets, syringes with needles of different volumes, anti-burn hydrogel bandages, immobilization tapes, sterile material for treating wounds, scissors for cutting clothes and shoes, analgesics and antipyretics.

“It is a question of sending to Ukraine the material that is most needed to attend to the affected civilian population. Later, if those needs change, the public will be informed immediately.”

This material can be delivered until this Friday, March 4, from 09:00 to 20:00 at Palau d'Esports l'Illa (Partida Salt de l'Aigua), at Casa del Fester (3 La Biga street), and in the social centers 'La Torreta' (Avenida Ciudad Real 6) and 'José Llorca Linares' (Calle Goya).

Toni Pérez has pointed out that "collection is also being coordinated in educational centres -CEIPs, IES and Municipal Nursery Schools- due to their proximity to the population in collaboration with educational communities". The mayor has detailed that the City Council will be in charge of collecting this material from the educational centres to coordinate its transport to the Consulate or the point that it determines together with the rest of the contributions made by the population of Benidorm, either individually or collectively.

The RAC telephone number -900 701 322- is available to groups or companies that organize collections of material or that wish to contribute.
