The Sociocultural Association of the Local Police of Benidorm launches, one more year and until December 31, its traditional Christmas Solidarity Campaign, with the aim of helping the most needy individuals and families.
This year, the association has proposed to collect cleaning products, personal hygiene and non-perishable foods "such as shampoo, gel, soap, bleach, detergent and, especially, canned food," said its president, Rafael Urbano, who has clarified that the lots "will be allocated in their entirety to Cáritas to distribute them at their usual distribution points."
Urbano recalled that the association was founded in 2013 by Benidorm Local Police collective "to further strengthen ties with citizens" and that, throughout the year, they carry out different training, sports, or social activities such as this Christmas campaign.
As a complement to the collection of food and cleaning and personal hygiene products, in collaboration with Alicante Transfusion Center, the association will install a blood donation point at its checkpoint on Grecia Street on December 14 where "police, neighbors and donors ”, emphasizes Urbano, will have the opportunity“ to show this other side of solidarity ”with those who suffer from illness.
People interested in collaborating with this solidarity campaign can bring the products they deem appropriate to the collection points that will be operational from today Wednesday at the checkpoint and at the City Hall and the police checkpoint.
To the products collected, donated by neighbors and officers, will be added those that will be acquired with the profits from the sale of the association's Christmas Lottery.
