The assembly hall of 'José Llorca Linares' Social Center hosted the third Charity Gala for Rare Diseases Day on Friday afternoon organized by AERBECO (Benidorm and Region Association for Rare Diseases), with the collaboration of the Department of Social Welfare.

Dozens of people have gathered at the municipal premises of Colonia Madrid to enjoy music and magic and also show their support for the association chaired by Miguel Ángel Martínez Bueno. AERBECO aims to create social awareness and help people who suffer from any of the so-called 'rare' diseases so that they receive the proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Among the attendees, the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca, other members of the municipal Corporation, and the provincial deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate.

Rare Disease Day has been celebrated since 2008 on the last day of February and is sponsored by the European Organization for Rare Diseases (EURORDIS). On February 28, AERBECO will set up an information table in the morning in front of the main door of the Town Hall and at noon a manifesto will be read
