The winning company will increase the staffing also for the 2021-22 academic year
Benidorm will reinforce cleaning and disinfection in municipal schools and educational centers
As an initiative of Benidorm City Council, the 2021-22 school year will also have reinforcement in cleaning and disinfection tasks in public schools and municipally-owned educational centers.
To this end, the Department of Education and Cleaning of Benidorm City Council, led by Maite Moreno and José Ramón González de Zárate, have launched the operation that will reinforce the cleaning and disinfection service in the aforementioned facilities in order to guarantee the safety of students throughout the school year.
Maintaining the guidelines and directives from the beginning of the previous year, the company awarded the service (OHL) has been required to reinforce the cleaning tasks during the 2021-22 school year. The councillor of Education, Maite Moreno, has indicated that “a score of professionals will carry out these reinforcement tasks in all areas of municipal competence and ownership, such as primary schools, municipal nursery schools, the UNED, the official school of languages, music and dance conservatories, and the school for adults ”.
As was done last year, Maite Moreno wanted to underline that "Benidorm City Council complies with and guarantees the protocols of the Ministry of Health in terms of cleaning and disinfection." At the end of August 2020, protocols and regulations were sent for the beginning of the course, but this year, the mayor pointed out, “we have not received a specific and concrete regulation and despite this, Benidorm City Council applies the designs and operations developed in Benidorm for the past year seeking to increase guarantees for students and Education professionals ”.
In this operation, has specified the mayor of Cleaning, José Ramón González de Zárate, “we have redistributed the work attending to the most important needs in the centers and always maintaining staff in all of them for morning cleaning and disinfection tasks that complement those that are carried out at the end of the school days in all centers and in depth ”.
De Zárate recalled that already last year "a good agreement was reached with the dealer company, covering all school hours to guarantee compliance with all the guidelines" in the case of the centers that depend on the consistory.
Regarding Secondary schools, the Councilor for Education has indicated that "there is no information available to this individual about the other educational centers, which depend on the Ministry of Education of the Generalitat regarding the reinforcement of cleaning and disinfection in Covid protocols"
