Urban Scene personalizes the castle of games of almost 100 square meters with the 'skyline' of the city

Benidorm renovates and expands the children's play area of L'Aigüera and installs a circuit training park and a zip line

16 February 2019
Benidorm renueva y amplía la zona de juegos infantiles de L’Aigüera e instala biosaludables y una tirolina

The Department of Urban Scenery is renewing and expanding the children's play area of L'Aigüera Park, located next to the central corridor that connects Julio Iglesias and Óscar Esplá auditoriums. To this improved playground will be added, in addition, an area with a circuit training park and a zip line of 25 meters, as advanced the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the councilman of the area, José Ramón González de Zárate.

The mayor pointed out that "this children's area of L'Aigüera was one of the first to be implemented in Benidorm and required an integral action as the attractions showed significant signs of wear after more than 15 years of use". Pérez stressed that "we wanted to reclaim our image of the city by customizing the castle of games with the 'skyline' of Benidorm." Thus, the entire perimeter of the castle of games will have vinyls with the 'skyline' and the four towers will be crowned with the outlines of the four tallest skyscrapers of the city: Gran Hotel Bali and In Tempo Towers, Lugano and Negurigane.

This castle of almost 100 square meters incorporates accessible and integrating areas for users with functional diversity, has a capacity for 95 users and counts with footbridges, tunnels, slides and several climbing walls. Next to the castle, a triple swing with two 'baby' seats, two planes and one nest type, as well as three spring rockers with animal pictures will be installed. In total this children's area will have an area of 288 square meters, and will have rubber floor.

The mayor said that "apart from improving this area for children, we wanted to turn this point of L'Aigüera into a leisure and health area for people of all ages, in line with the configuration we already have in the parks of Elche and Foietes. " For this reason, in the garden area located in front of the children's area "we will install a circuit training park for adults with eight devices to perform different exercises" and also a 25-meter zip line for children between 3 and 12 years old " .

Pérez has indicated that this action is being carried out under the canon of the urban furniture contract and will be completed by the end of this month of February.
