Today the Governing Board has approved a new batch of the second call for these benefits, aimed at self-employed workers and companies with up to 10 workers and whose application is still open
Benidorm reaches 3.2 million euros in ‘Parenthesis Grants’
More than 3.2 million euros granted and more than 1,400 companies and self-employed beneficiaries. That is the balance today of 'Parenthesis Grants' in Benidorm, as reported by the mayor, Toni Pérez, who recalled that the application period for these benefits is still open, aimed at professionals and companies with up to 10 workers of a good number of sectors and activities.
Toni Pérez has transferred these figures after the Local Government Board (JGL) approved today a new remittance, the third of this second call, which amounts to 342,484.75 euros and 160 beneficiaries. In this way, “between the two calls, there are already 3,276,625.88 euros, which have been injected into the productive fabric of Benidorm, thus helping to alleviate the difficult situation that the self-employed and companies that carry out their activity in our city have suffered and they continue to suffer as a result of the pandemic ”.
So far, in both calls, 1,416 professionals and merchants have been attended, "a figure that will continue to increase in the coming weeks as we resolve and approve new remittances, in which in addition to processing the requests that continue to be received, the appeals submitted to the denial of aid ”. In this regard, the mayor has stressed that "the percentage of requests denied entry is practically testimonial, barely 5%, despite which we give applicants a period of one month so that they can correct any deficiencies or provide documentation that certifies that comply with all the requirements established in the bases ”.
Toni Pérez recalled that "these grants can still be requested, co-financed by the Generalitat, Alicante Provincial Council and the City Council and that amount to 2,000 euros per company or self-employed person, to which 200 euros 'extra' are added for each worker registered as of December 31, 2020 ”.
The request can be made through the Electronic Office, https://sede.benidorm.org. At the same Headquarters, the bases of this second call are also available and the list of activities and sectors that can benefit from this aid, which are all the CNAEs included by the Consell in the list of sectors affected by the pandemic.
The mayor has stressed that "the City Council has worked so that these 'Parenthesis Grants' reach the largest possible number of companies and self-employed in Benidorm, aware that a city like ours, whose main industry is tourism, has seen especially affected by the pandemic, its consequences and the measures that have been taken to combat it ”. For this reason, "in addition to launching a second phase of 'Paréntesis Grants', in our commitment and vocation as a City Council not to leave anyone, we have promoted 100% municipal aid, such as those in the accommodation sector, to reach the companies that until now have been excluded from the calls made by the competent administrations ”.
