Aida García, Councilor for Innovation, highlights the importance of practical learning for the training of technicians from other DTI destinations through Benidorm scalable model

Benidorm organizes the first Boot Camp on DTI data and smart sustainable governance

27 July 2022
Boot Camp DTI

Today and tomorrow Benidorm DTI hosts the first Surfer DTI Boot Camp of Sustainable Smart Governance. It is a practical learning environment on real daily work situations of a DTI such as Benidorm for professionals from the sector involved in developing and implementing the DTI.

The Councilor for Innovation Aida García Mayor has welcomed this first Boot Camp highlighting "the importance of practical learning in the training of administration technicians who choose to be certified as DTI, of those already certified and of companies and companies that collaborate with the process”, pointing out that the fundamental part of it is “being in real situations” that occur in the development of the activity. It is intended, he said, "to develop the knowledge map of the destination that helps the DTI transformation", pointing out the firm will of Benidorm to make all its achievements scalable and contribute to the improvement of the standardization with which it was certified as the first DTI in the world to international level.

The challenge, García Mayor pointed out, is “to unite destination information with tourist information” with the aim of “developing better, intelligent and sustainable governance, in favour of tourists and residents; for the city."

Visit Benidorm, when explaining the processes to be developed by Benidorm City Council, Leire Bilbao insisted on the importance of "sharing the model" and showing the possibilities "of effective and sustainable management of the territory" thanks to sharing data between the Benidorm City Council and tourism and service companies to "maximise the strategic value of data when making decisions and planning actions".

Bilbao insisted on the analysis of the information and data from active listening, as well as the handling of the references of the indicators with which it works under the premise that "the greater the number and quality of the data to be analysed, the greater the more focused and effective the strategy to be developed will be. She explained to the attendees, with practical examples, details of decision-making in the usual city processes thanks to the information available.

The program of this first DTI data-sharing Boot Camp between destinations, tourists and companies is completed today with work sessions in the Dinapsis Lab control room and at HOBEC to continue this afternoon with a work session in the Department of Tourism of the Benidorm City Council. Tomorrow, Thursday, the experience of working with data will be developed in the Smart DTI and the final session of proposals and solutions to the situations experienced in these two days.
Smart Tourism and Ciclops DTI are the technical managers of this first Sustainable Smart Governance DTI Boot Camp that will continue in the coming months
