The JGL has modified the bases of the call to include all the sectors considered damaged by the Consell
Benidorm opens the 2nd phase of Paréntesis Grants to more sectors and extends the application period until July 19
Benidorm City Council has opened the second phase of Parenthesis Grants to new economic sectors and has extended the application period until July 19. This is how the mayor, Toni Pérez, has transferred it today, who explained that “the Local Government Board (JGL) has approved today to modify the bases of this second call to include new sectors and types of activities and thus try to reach the maximum number possible of beneficiaries, helping all the companies and professionals in Benidorm that require it ”.
As reported by the mayor, "in the first place, all sectors considered, by the Consell, as most affected by the pandemic have been included in the call and which are included in Decree Law 7/2021, of May 7". "This implies - he has clarified - dozens of new activities to those already incorporated in the first phase of the‘ Parenthesis Helps ’and initially in this second one."
Toni Pérez explained that "companies with up to 10 workers or professionals from all those sectors who have their tax or activity domicile in Benidorm may participate in this extension of the call."
The mayor has indicated that “the City Council, and within the conditions established by the Consell, we are modulating and reformulating the bases of these 'Parenthesis Grants' to benefit and support as many workers and companies as possible, being very aware that the effects of the pandemic have been especially felt in a tourist destination like Benidorm and, therefore, in its productive fabric ”.
The modified bases and the annexes with the beneficiary CNAES can be consulted in the section of ‘Plan Resistir-Ayudas Paréntesis (II call) on the website of the City Council: https://sede.benidorm.org. In this same section, the application for help will be processed, which will be 2,000 euros per company or self-employed, to which 200 euros 'extra' are added for each worker registered on December 31, 2020. The application period will be open until 11:59 p.m. on July 19.
The mayor recalled that "for this second phase of‘ Parenthesis Grants ’there is an economic endowment of about 3.2 million euros, financed by the Generalitat, the Alicante Provincial Council and the City Council.
In the first phase of the aid, nearly 900 companies and freelancers were reached and just over 2 million euros have been awarded.
Coinciding with the second phase of ‘Parenthesis Grants’, the City Council also launched a line of aid aimed exclusively at the city's accommodation sector: hotels, campsites, pensions, hostels, apartments and management companies. For this line of aid, endowed with 3 million euros coming entirely from the municipal budget, 191 applications have been received, which have already begun to be evaluated by the technical commission created for this purpose.
These grants to the accommodation sector provide benefits that “range from 1,000 to 90,000 euros depending on the category and number of rooms or apartments in the establishment.
