Benidorm installs roll-up walkways at accessible beach points to facilitate access for users

Benidorm instala pasarelas enrollables en los puntos de playas accesibles para facilitar el acceso a los usuarios

The Department of Beaches of Benidorm City Council has installed new roll-up walkways at the accessible beach points that facilitate access to the users of these facilities. These are 50 rolls, each ten metres long, of ‘roll-up walkways’ with a width of 1.80 metres and blue in colour.

These new walkways are made from environmentally friendly material, having been made from 100% recycled plastic from urban waste. The main characteristic of these elements, according to the Councillor for Beaches, Mónica Gómez, is that “they improve the accessibility of people with reduced mobility to the beach, as well as that of pushchairs and bicycles. In addition, they have a flexible and permeable structure”.

The investment made amounts to 6,352 euros and all the rolls of the walkways have already been placed at the accessible beach points of Levante and Poniente.
