Benidorm hosts this Sunday the first Anémona Trophy of Pilota Valenciana, female elit

The last regular day of the 1st President's Cup of Diputació d'Alacant, Elit Women's raspall modality, is celebrated this Sunday at Trinquet Benidorm under the first Anémona Trophy of Pilota Valenciana.
The Benidorm games will decide the final classification. However, the First Division game, on Sunday at 12, between Irene and Mar and Ana and Amparo already has that final status due to the classification of couples.

Prior to this, the qualifying game for the Second final will be played at 11 in the morning, pitting Marta and Fanni against Érika and Ángela (with Mireia, the announced one, injured). The winning couple of this game will play the final in Petrer on April 30.

The Councilor for Equality of the Benidorm City Council, Ángela Zaragozí, has expressed her satisfaction that Benidorm hosts this Anémona trophy, included in the President's Cup, of the Alicante Provincial Council because it is "an opportunity to make visible the female participation in this sport so ours”.

For her part, the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, highlighted "the revolution that the female emergence of the Pilota Valenciana is leading to" pointing out that there are "several hundred players who are federated and there are thousands of girls in educational centres who they already practice the modalities of this sport and champions emerge”.

Zaragozí congratulated herself because in the pilota Valenciana “women have gone from exhibitions to competing, and we're doing it in our own right." Cebreros stressed that "pilota is passionate and motivates girls and 'raspall', the most popular modality, helps us show a female dominance that was unthinkable a few years ago."

The Department of Sports and Equality of Benidorm supports the active participation and practice of female sports in all sports, including the native sport of pilota.
