Benidorm today gave his last goodbye to whoever was its mayor from January 8, 1974 to May 16, 1977, Miguel Pérez Devesa, who died on Sunday at his home, at 85 years old.
Yesterday and this morning, hundreds of neighbors have shown their condolences to the family in the funeral chapel that was installed in the plenary hall of the City Hall. At 11.00 in the morning the coffin has been transferred to the Parish Church of Sant Jaume and Santa Anna, crossing the streets of the historic center in a procession attended by the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, together with members of the different Municipal groups, the senator by Alicante Agustín Almodóbar, the autonomic deputy Manuel Pérez Fenoll and representatives of Benidorm civil society. After the funeral, the burial took place in the cemetery of Sant Jaume.
