In the institutional closing act of the Assembly of Hosbec Comunitat Valenciana, the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, highlighted the "close relationship, the municipal support and the work for the sector" that the hotel management association, born in Benidorm 45 years ago, has been developing.
Pérez pointed out that "the association, its members, carry the tourism industry in their DNA and work in their favor", praising "the professionalism of those who make up the value chain of the tourism industry and the accommodation sector".
The mayor recalled that "despite the gloomy news with which the day dawned -" the EPA left us the worst first quarter of the last three years"-, the sector works together and is reinforced, recalling that "tourism contributes a lot and it does not relocate, it generates opportunities and fixes the population while being socially, environmentally and economically sustainable”.
Pérez announced that the city council will be at the side of the industry, the sector, and the association in their demands and to walk the path as a team" which is one of the fundamental issues of Sustainable Development Goal number 17: the alliance to achieve the objective.
Previously, the president of Hosbec, Fede Fuster, had highlighted the good figures from the assembly -328 companies and more than 106,000 jobs- and the excellent prospects for the future, recalling that "Hosbec is a required voice and an example of an association in the field of organizations business”.
Fuster had exposed the achievements, challenges, and demands of the sector, influencing the tax issue and the repeal of the tourist tax.
The president of the Provincial Council of Alicante, Carlos Mazón, the regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, and the Minister of Economy, Arcadi Spain, also took part in the event.
