The Bavarian gastronomy makes room in the local festive calendar with the help of the Fiestas Commission

Benidorm celebrates this weekend its 'Oktoberfest' at Plaza del Ayuntamiento

01 October 2018
Benidorm celebrará este fin de semana su ‘Oktoberfest’ en la plaza del Ayuntamiento

Benidorm will celebrate the fourth edition of its Oktoberfest from October 4 to 14, with the help of the Department of Fiestas, the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals, the gastronomic knowledge of Grupo Aurrera and the logistical support of Space Support. A large tent installed at Plaza de Sus Majestades los Reyes de España will host the event for eleven days, which will be joined by the Traditional Market of October 9 and inflatable attractions for children.

The councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, who has appeared to announce the event at a press conference with the president of the Comissió, Paco Marín; the manager of Grupo Aurrera, Ignacio García; and the representative of Space Support, Miguel Torres, has said that the Oktoberfest in Benidorm is "a daring initiative that we hope will have a positive and massive response from neighbors and visitors". Carrobles has emphasized "the effort" made by the foremen who, in this way, work to "further enhance" our major parties.

The president of the Commission, for his part, wanted to underline the "great satisfaction" that for the mayorals is "to offer this new event to Benidorm" which aims to "obtain funds" for the November celebrations and has been convinced that they will be Many people who come to enjoy German food and music. In this sense, Ignacio García, has announced that "typical products of the Bavarian gastronomy: knuckles, pretzels or sauerkraut" will be offered, all washed down with the typical beer of Munich.

Finally, Miguel Torres, responsible for the production, has anticipated that the square of the City Hall will dress with the popular blue and white diamonds of Bavaria and the atmosphere will be the one that breathes those days in the traditional German tents. "We want the event," said Torres, "to be as similar as possible to what is being done in Munich, and to let everyone know that the Oktoberfest is a family celebration" to which "parents, children and grandparents go to rejoice" the best gastronomy ". The polkas will sound in Benidorm during the eleven days of the event. Torres has confirmed the participation of the "only two groups of traditional German music" of Spain in Benidorm: The mati Germán and Ein prosit polka, as well as others from the area.
