On the occasion of the International and European Day of Persons with Disabilities, Asmibe installs, together with other associations, a solidarity market on Gambo street

Benidorm calls for more support for people with disabilities

03 December 2022
Día Internacional y Europeo de las Personas con Discapacidad.
Día Internacional y Europeo de las Personas con Discapacidad.

Asmibe (Association of the Disabled of Benidorm), within the activities that it has organized on the occasion of the celebration of the International and European Day of Persons with Disabilities, has today installed its traditional solidarity market at the confluence of Gambo and Martínez Alejos streets that This year celebrates its twenty-first edition. Social groups such as AFA, Aerbeco, Asofiben, Ahedysia and TAPIS have participated in the activity.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, together with the mayor of Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca, and other members of the municipal Corporation, have accompanied Asmibe in the reading of the manifesto that, on the occasion of the anniversary, has been drawn up by the Spanish Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities (CERMI), of which the Benidorm collective is a member.

It was precisely Ángela Llorca who read the document, after the presentation of the initiative by the president of Asmibe, Mari Fernández. The document vindicates the role of people with disabilities in our society and requests greater support for them from the public powers, even more so after the health crisis experienced due to the Covid-19 pandemic or the economic and human crisis caused by the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.
