Benidorm approves the payment of the second batch of shopping vouchers, amounting to approximately 420,000 euros
The Local Governing Board of Benidorm City Council today approved the payment of the second batch of vouchers redeemed as part of the municipal campaign #BenidormTeDaMás (Benidorm Gives You More). Mayor Toni Pérez announced that this second round of vouchers totals €419,130 and “corresponds to vouchers redeemed between December 22nd and 28th at one of the 494 establishments participating in the campaign.”
Toni Pérez indicated that “the approval of this second batch comes after the City Council has already paid out €351,690 for the first round of vouchers, those redeemed during the first week of the campaign, thus fulfilling our commitment to ensuring that the funds from this initiative reach the businesses quickly and efficiently.” The payment of this new batch of vouchers is expected to be processed in the coming days.
The mayor also announced that “with three days remaining until the end of #BenidormTeDaMás and before we can fully assess the campaign's impact, we can already confirm that this sixth edition has surpassed the number of participating businesses compared to Christmas 2023.”
According to figures released today by the Department of Commerce, since the campaign began on December 15, “more than 42,200 registered residents over the age of 18 have requested and downloaded their vouchers,” representing a total of €1,268,480. By midday this Monday, 27,019 people had already redeemed their vouchers in more than 38,000 purchases.
Furthermore, activity at the in-person service points has been constant, with nearly 3,000 people assisted at the public service points set up by the City Council to facilitate access to the vouchers for citizens without the necessary resources or technological knowledge. Thus, the City Hall's Assembly Hall service point has assisted 2,100 people, in addition to another 848 at the administrative extensions. The City Hall service point will also be open this Tuesday, the 30th, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
How to get the vouchers
As in previous years, the 70,547 citizens eligible for this initiative can download their vouchers until December 31st. To download the vouchers, beneficiaries must register on the website https://bonobenidormtedamas.es. Once on the website, they must access the Consumer department, where they will need to register, providing their National Identity Document (DNI), Foreigner's Identity Number (NIE), or passport number and creating a password. After completing the registration, they can access their personal area to download the vouchers in PDF format and print them.
Vouchers can also be redeemed from the BuyBono mobile application – available on the Play Store and Apple Store – once downloaded, without needing to print them. To do so, they must install the app on their mobile device and access their Private Area from the Consumer section, entering their DNI number and the password they used to register on the website.
Once this step is completed, they can download the vouchers. The app will generate QR codes for the vouchers and provide all the relevant information, allowing users to check which vouchers they have redeemed and the establishment or service where they did so during the campaign.
Users can also view a list of participating businesses in Benidorm, where they can redeem their vouchers directly from the app. This feature is also available on the website.
For this sixth edition of #BenidormTeDaMás, an initial budget of €1.8 million has been allocated.
