The budget for the project, by the concessionaire Hidraqua, amounts to 400,000 euros and is being carried out using treasury surpluses from 2023

Benidorm approves on Monday the execution of the project to renovate the hydraulic infrastructure on Capitán Cortés street

Benidorm aprueba el lunes la ejecución del proyecto de renovación de infraestructuras hidráulicas en la calle Capitán Cortés

Benidorm City Council, through the Local Government Board, will approve on Monday the project for the renovation and adaptation of hydraulic infrastructures in the street Capitán Cortés. The approval will be made after the Department of Water Cycle requested the concessionaire of the Municipal Service of Drinking Water and Sewerage to draft the project “to continue in the line of work of renovation of these infrastructures necessary to guarantee and maintain the quality of the service in the municipality”, as explained by the councillor José Ramón González de Zárate.

The councillor requested that a “global solution” for these services be analysed by current needs and future demands and taking into account the actions already carried out with the municipal works of the EDUSI project of the Estación area.

Given the request made by the head of Ciclo del Agua, the company Hidraqua presented the project that will be approved on Monday and that has a budget of 400,000 euros (VAT included) in which the works necessary for the aforementioned comprehensive renovation of the pipes on Calle Capitán Cortés are collected and detailed. The

The local Government Board will also approve the same proposal to request Hidraqua to carry out these works, which will affect the section between Calle Ginés Cartagena and Avenida Ciudad Deportiva.

The budget for this action amounts to 400,000 euros and will be executed from the treasury surpluses of the 2023 financial year. These works will complement those carried out at the time included in the EDUSI with the renovation of the stormwater network in Colonia Madrid and a part of Capitán Cortés. “Now we are finishing the stormwater network and also the sewerage system in a very important area” said González de Zárate, who has announced that the urban scene will also be improved and new trees will be planted.

The councillor has described the work as “very good and in line with what we have done in other neighbourhoods and areas of the city”. The work will also begin the tendering process on Monday “to be completed before the end of the year”.

“For this government, all the neighbourhoods of Benidorm are equally important, and this one is also important,” said González de Zárate, who has assured that the local government “will continue to invest and improve the urban scene and the appearance of our streets, and this is one more proof, not only in this neighbourhood but in general throughout the city”.
