Benidorm allocates 15,000 euros in aid for activities focused on comprehensive care for women and the prevention of gender-based violence

Benidorm City Council, through its Local Government Board, approved today a €15,000 grant to non-profit organisations in the city to help cover the costs of organising and implementing activities for comprehensive care for women, preventing gender-based violence, and promoting women's associations. The Local Government Board also approved the rules governing the granting of this grant.
The Councillor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí, noted that the Second Municipal Gender Equality Plan for 2016-2020, extended until the approval of a new plan, aims to "improve the situation of women, promoting equal opportunities between women and men, and reducing the gender discrimination and inequality that persist in various areas of family, social, and economic life."
This plan includes, within the strategic line "Personal and Social Empowerment," the objective of personal development, and the participation of women in decision-making and social processes by supporting associations and organisations working for equality." Therefore, to achieve this objective, the rules governing the subsidies have been developed. Once approved, they will be published on the Benidorm City Council Transparency Portal, on the municipal website, in the Official Provincial Gazette, and in the National Subsidy Database.
