A hundred figures make up this Nativity set, prepared by Amics del Betlem de la Marina Association
Benidorm adds a new attraction to the Christmas Square with the inauguration of the Municipal Nativity Scene
The councillor of Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros, and the queens of Major Patron Festivities, Angélica Morenilla Such and Daniela Talavera Ventura, have inaugurated this Sunday the Municipal Nativity Scene that the Association of Amigos del Belén de la Marina has set up in the lobby of Benidorm City Hall, in collaboration with Amics del Betlem de Benidorm. In this way, the City Council adds a new attraction to the Christmas Square and the Christmas programming organized in the city under the umbrella of 'BeniNadal 2023'.
Other members of the local Corporation have also participated in the inauguration ceremony of this Hebrew Nativity scene, including the first deputy mayor, Ana Pellicer, and the regional deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate; the Dames of the Patron Major Festivities; the president of the Committee of Patron Major Festivities, María Dolores Cano; the president of Penyes Verge del Sofratge Association, Jaume Cortés; and a large audience, who have been lucky enough to be the first to be able to see this beautiful work.
The representation comprises a hundred figures and scenes, the vast majority handcrafted by Juana Moreno with the help of Francisco Villacaña and Jesús Tris, and faithfully reproduces many biblical passages related to the birth of the Child Jesus.
Like the rest of the 'BeniNadal' nativity scenes, the Municipal Nativity Scene can be visited in the lobby of Benidorm City Hall until January 5. In addition, during these days the monumental Nativity scene installed at Plaza de la Navidad is also open to the public, as well as in Casa de Andalucía, located at its headquarters on Mercurio Street, number 4; and in ACR La Barqueta, which can be visited every day, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., at number 62 Calle Tomás Ortuño.
