Belgian organist Jan Vermeire delights the audience with his concert at the International Organ Festival

The prestigious Belgian organist Jan Vermeire delighted the audience yesterday afternoon at the parish church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna with his concert as part of the Benidorm International Organ Festival. The Councillor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, accompanied the organist at the beginning of the recital, which drew repeated applause from the audience. The Belgian musician's program, entitled "El día de la fiesta!", included a collection of works such as Dieterich Buxtehude's "Praeludium in D," Friedrich Haendel's organ concerto HWV 295 in F major, "El cuco y el ruiseñor," Johann Sebastian Bach's "Duetto III" and "Toccata et Fugue in D," Pietro Yon's "Humoresque" "L'Organo Primitivo," and Noël Goemanne's "En el silencio de la noche" and "El día de la fiesta."
Jaime Jesús Pérez thanked Jan Vermerie for his participation in this event organised by the Department of Culture on the last Friday of each month and noted that with this concert, the Organ Festival is now taking a break for the summer season and will resume its activities next October.
