The service will be extended until January 5th at La Cala school to facilitate work-life balance for families during the Christmas holiday period

Around thirty schoolchildren aged 3 to 12 participate in the ‘Christmas School’ in Benidorm

Una treintena de escolares de 3 a 12 años participan en la ‘Escuela de Navidad’ de Benidorm

Around thirty children between the ages of 3 and 12 are participating this year in a new edition of the "Christmas School," organised by the FAMPA Marina Baixa parents' association in collaboration with Benidorm City Council's Department of Education. The program opened its doors last Tuesday, December 23, at La Cala public school to help families balance work and family life during the Christmas holidays and will run until January 5.

The mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, and the Councillor for Education, Maite Moreno, visited the school to welcome the students participating in the "Christmas School," along with the president of FAMPA, Pastori Personat, and the head of Trokoló Animaciones, the company providing this service and developing other educational projects in the city throughout the year.

After visiting the facilities and speaking with the 28 participating children, Toni Pérez pointed out that this "Christmas School," like the Easter and Summer Schools, is "allowing all these boys and girls to spend Christmas mornings with other children their age, playing, having fun, and participating in leisure and educational activities while their families are at work." The mayor also emphasised that "Benidorm has always been committed to supporting initiatives that facilitate work-life balance, essential in any region and especially in a tourist city like ours, since school holidays coincide with peak tourist season, and resources like this are a huge help in achieving this balance."

The "Christmas School" will operate until January 5th, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., although families can also opt for the early drop-off option starting at 8:00 a.m. and the lunch service (bring your own packed lunch) from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In both cases, this extended schedule option is included in the general school price, so there is no need to make an 'extra' outlay.
