The Marina Baixa Association of Families and People with Mental Illness (AFEM) held its traditional annual Charity Gala yesterday afternoon. The event took place in the Benidorm City Hall Auditorium and was attended by the Councillor for Social Welfare, Ángela Zaragozí, as well as other members of the local government who accompanied the association's president, Pompe Muro, and the association's members.
The gala began at 7:30 p.m. and consisted of several musical and dance numbers performed in playback by the group Canela Pura, which delighted the large audience. The president again called for more resources for people with mental illness and outlined the association's commitment to continuing to develop rehabilitation programs that allow people with mental illness to improve their quality of life.
