About 500 people participate in the VIII San Silvestre of Benidorm to say goodbye to the year doing sports
The popular race San Silvestre of Benidorm has closed this morning the 2017 running calendar with about 500 participants in the different modalities. A test that brings together both local participants and many athletes from other places that take advantage of the occasion to celebrate New Year's Eve in our city.
Since 10:00 hours have started the different tests, which have had the exit on Avenida de Europa to go after Levante beach, Castellón street and Avenida Mediterráneo, where the goal and the podium for the delivery of prizes, in which the mayor of Sports, Arturo Cabrillo, and Councilwoman Lourdes Caselles participated.
The runners have been able to participate in three modalities: a 2km non-clockwise family race, children's races and a 4km timed event in which the previously registered athletes have participated.
In addition to the typical costumes, this year's test has offered the possibility for participants to run with their pet. It has also been a charity race, as the participants have donated non-perishable food and toys that will be given to Caritas to help those most in need.
