These days Palau d'Esports L'Illa de Benidorm is hosting a new appointment of the Spanish Championship for taekwondo clubs, which is held from the 4th to the 7th of this month and which brings together more than 2,700 participating athletes who Referees, technicians, judges and coaches are added, mobilizing some 3,500 people.

Together with the companions of the athletes, everything will represent around 20,000 overnight stays during the days of the event.

A dozen tatami mats house these combat, technique and exhibition competitions to which the best national athletes of each specialty have attended, such as the Olympians Javier Pérez Polo, Adrián Vicente, Raúl Martínez and the medalist Adriana Cerezo, Silver in Tokyo.
In total, there are 300 clubs from the 17 Autonomous Communities that attend this championship that has specific tests to add ranking points in order to be part of the national team of the next World Cup in Wuxi (China), with a leading role also in the children's competition , youngest and precadet, who create fans, together with junior and senior, who on Tuesday 7 will bring together 800 competitors.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, today visited the development of the championship together with the Councilor for Sports, Mariló Cebreros, and other members of the local government team. There he has been accompanied by Mari Ángeles Urtaneta, member of the board of directors of the Spanish Federation and president of the Federation of Navarra.
